Balance Coin (BLC) crashed 99% from its $1 peg to near zero after a hacker exploited a price oracle vulnerability on BNB Chain, draining approximately $912,000 from its collateral vaults. Another stablecoin, another oracle attack, another $912,000 vanished. The Technologist read: every stablecoin is a system with an oracle problem waiting to happen. Oracles bring off-chain price information on-chain. That bridge is the attack surface. Bitcoin doesn't have oracles. Bitcoin doesn't need external price data to function. Bitcoin's monetary policy is arithmetic that anyone can verify with a full node. The oracle problem is the architectural weakness that separates monetary networks from token systems pretending to be money. Balance Coin just paid $912,000 to demonstrate the difference.
