MEDIAMARKT SATURN PULLS LEDGER FROM STORES AND ONLINE — OVER ONE IMPLANT REPORT FROM GERMANY — LEDGER HAS NOT CONFIRMED IT

Ledger said on X at 12:29 UTC on October 13, 2026 that MediaMarkt Saturn “has stopped, with Ledger’s alignment, the sale of Ledger devices in their stores and online while the investigation continues, following the report of an implant from one customer in Germany.” It added: “No loss of funds were reported.”

That is a second seller. Until now, Ledger tied the drain to devices sold through CryptoBilis. The statement does not say Ledger has opened the German device, and it does not say the implant is real. Protos reports Ledger said it has “not verified a drain linked to a signer bought elsewhere.” Protos and Blocktrainer report MediaMarkt told Cointelegraph it removed all Ledger products from its stores and online platforms.

Blocktrainer reports the first public claim came from an X user who says he bought his device at MediaMarkt, posted photos, and sent one unit to Ledger. Blocktrainer says it could not verify the claim. Ledger has not said whether that user is the German customer in its statement.

Ledger’s own finding on the CryptoBilis units was that the implant read the seed off the screen and left the secure element alone. A chip nobody touched can’t tell you about a part added next to it. So where the box came from matters as much as the chip inside it. Until Ledger says what it found in the German device, a Ledger bought at MediaMarkt is a device nobody has checked. At the time of this writing, bitcoin was $83,244.
