WALL STREET OWNS ALMOST NO BITCOIN — RIVER’S MATH SAYS THE GAP IS WORTH $250K TO $840K A COIN — THE SELLER DID THE ARITHMETIC

The number that isn’t a projection: 0.008%. The recommendation letters say 1% to 7%. That gap is the trade.
River published the arithmetic every allocator eventually runs. Investment advisers today hold about 0.008% of client assets in Bitcoin. Twenty-nine of the thirty biggest U.S. advisory firms own some — median position, 0.10%. If 20% to 40% of world portfolios ever move 2% to 4% into the asset, that’s $1.3 to $5.3 trillion of new money against $333 trillion in global financial assets, and each past cycle turned a dollar of inflows into roughly three dollars of market value. Run it through and the coin prices between $250,000 and $840,000. Two honest footnotes: River sells Bitcoin, so the conclusion pays its author — and the whole model works or fails on one assumption, that the allocations actually happen. The number that isn’t a projection: 0.008%. The recommendation letters say 1% to 7%. That gap is the trade.
KEY RECEIPTS River adoption model (published on X): $250,000–$840,000 per coin in 3–5 years IF portfolio adoption broadens to its assumptions.
The assumptions: 20–40% of global portfolios allocate 2–4% to Bitcoin. Institutional recommendation ranges now run 1–7%.
Implied inflows: $1.3T–$5.3T against a $333T global financial asset base.
Multiplier: each $1 of net inflows historically produced ~$4.50, $3.30, and $3.10 of market value in past cycles; the model uses a conservative 3x. Result: $5.5T–$17.5T market value.
The facts that are NOT projections: advisers currently allocate ~0.008% of assets. 29 of the 30 largest U.S. RIAs hold Bitcoin — median allocation 0.10%. Adviser adoption rose from 22% (2024) to 32% (2025); 56% plan or are considering adding.
Who profits: River is a Bitcoin brokerage — the model’s conclusion sells its product. Named here because the house rule is naming it.

The model is the seller’s. The gap is real.
The cap is still twenty-one million.
