CLEANSPARK SOLD 702 BITCOIN IN SEPTEMBER AND MINED 529 — ITS AVERAGE SALE PRICE, $72,928, WAS UNDER THE MONTH’S LOW — AND THE MONTHLY REPORTS ARE ENDING
CleanSpark mined 529 bitcoin in September 2026 and sold 702, according to its October 9 update. Two went at spot. The other 700 went out through call exercises. Holdings dropped from 13,703 to 13,530 BTC, which is exactly the 173-coin gap.
Now the price. CleanSpark puts its average at $72,928 a coin, counting net proceeds plus net premiums. Bitcoin never traded that low in September. The month’s bottom on Crypto.com was $74,897. Writing calls pays you up front and caps you later, and this is what the cap looked like.
Another 3,475 BTC, about a quarter of what’s left, is posted as collateral or receivable on derivatives. The company also borrowed $2.276 billion at 7.875%, due 2031, to build out a data center under a lease it expects to bring in about $6.6 billion over the first term. And this was the last monthly update. It’s going quarterly. Same morning, CoinDesk reported from Lookonchain data that MARA sent about 996 BTC to an address tagged as Galaxy Digital (a transfer, which isn’t the same thing as a sale).
Miners used to be the steadiest holders in the market. This one’s coins now cover options, collateral and a data center bet, and its shareholders will hear about it four times a year instead of twelve. At the time of this writing, bitcoin was $82,866.
