STRIVE BOUGHT 1,107 BITCOIN AT ABOUT $85,396 BETWEEN 2026-09-21 AND 2026-09-25 AND NOW HOLDS 27,462 — THE BLOCK AND DECRYPT BOTH SAY THE SATA PREFERRED SUPPLIED 85 PERCENT OF THE CAPITAL — THE 8-K ITSELF DOES NOT SAY SO
Strive bought 1,107 bitcoin for about 94.5 million dollars between September 21 and September 25, at an average of 85,396 dollars a coin, and now holds 27,462. The purchase is the easy part of the filing. The funding is the part worth reading twice.
The Block and Decrypt both report that the SATA preferred supplied 85 percent of the capital. The 8-K does not say that anywhere. What the 8-K shows is SATA up 1,009,020 shares, Class A common up 649,072, and cash up 19.2 million dollars over the period. The 85 percent is arithmetic somebody did on those numbers. It may well be right. It is not a company disclosure.
The distinction matters if you own this. A company funding coin purchases mostly with preferred is carrying a payment obligation that common stock does not create. Strategy spent last week buying back 151.7 million dollars of its own preferred, which is what managing that obligation looks like once it is large enough to need managing.
So take the coin count from the filing and hold the funding split loosely until Strive puts a number on it in its own words. At the time of this writing, bitcoin was $83,456.
