BEARS GET WIPED OUT — BITCOIN RIPS TO $73K IN RECORD ONE-DAY LIQUIDATIONS — TREASURY CALLS ITS MONEY MOVE A ‘BULLISH CATALYST’

Scott Bessent said he was just smoothing out the bond market, buying back more Treasury debt to keep long-term yields from running hot. Wall Street heard something else: more money sloshing into the system. Bitcoin heard it too. In one day it ran from $69,749 to almost $73,000, and the short sellers who bet against it got run over — $1.3 billion wiped out in the biggest single-day liquidation event ever logged. That is not a rally built on a press release or a token launch. That is a balance sheet reading a liquidity signal correctly before the headline writers caught up. When the Treasury moves to steady its own debt, it is telling you the dollar supply is about to get looser, and operators who hold hard assets get paid for showing up early. The shorts were positioned for a world where money stays tight. That world ended in an afternoon. Every time the government reaches for the buyback lever, it is quietly voting for harder money elsewhere, and bitcoin is where that vote gets counted first. Owning the coin outright means you already collected. Betting against it means you just funded someone else’s position.
