TREZOR CUTS RESELLERS ON JANUARY 1, 2027 — IT HAS NOT SAID HOW MANY OR WHICH — ITS RESELLER PAGE SHOWS NO CHANGE
Trezor said on X at 13:32 UTC on October 13, 2026 that it decided “to reduce the number of resellers so we can more effectively check those we work with.” Decrypt and Bitcoin.com report the cut takes effect January 1, 2027. Decrypt reports that sellers losing their authorization get no new stock but can sell what they already hold through the holidays.
Trezor has not said how many sellers go or which ones. Decrypt reports the number was not disclosed and that Trezor weighed each country on its own. The authorized reseller page at trezor.io/resellers carried no note about the change when read on October 13. A buyer this holiday season can buy from a seller that has already been told it is out, and the page will not tell them.
Trezor says “there is not a single piece of evidence that Trezor devices have been compromised.” The move follows Ledger’s finding that wallets sold through CryptoBilis carried an implant that read the recovery phrase off the screen. That attack never touched the chip. It touched the box on its way to the buyer.
Your keys are only yours if nobody opened the device before you did. Trezor is shortening the road from its factory to your door. It has not yet shown buyers where that road now runs. At the time of this writing, bitcoin was $83,145.
