BRENT RAN 6% TO $107 ON SEPTEMBER 10 — AUGUST’S REPORT ALREADY HAD DIESEL UP 24% — SEPTEMBER HAS NOT BEEN COUNTED YET

Brent crude was $107.59 at 2:30 PM ET on September 10, 2026, up 6.3% in one session. It closed at $101.21 the day before. The reason is not complicated. Houthi strikes have hit Saudi energy sites, the United States and Iran are trading blows, and about 11 million barrels a day of oil still has to move through the Strait of Hormuz to get anywhere.

Here is the part that reaches your house. The producer price report we wrote up on the morning of September 10 was August data. It had prices to producers running 5.4% over the year and diesel up 24.1% in a single month. That report was finished and printed before oil did this.

Diesel moves everything you buy. It is inside the price of food, the price of a package, the price of a house getting built. A barrel that jumps 6% in a day turns up in a government number about six weeks later, and by then it gets called a surprise.

Bitcoin did not have a good day either. It was $77,100 at 2:26 PM ET on Crypto.com, down 1.9%. Nobody is owed a good day. The difference is that oil went up because a war made it scarce, and there are only ever going to be 21 million bitcoin, war or not.
