SPOT BITCOIN ETFS TOOK IN $999 MILLION ON MONDAY — THE WHOLE WEEK BEFORE, FED HIKE INCLUDED, NETTED $6.1 MILLION — BIGGEST DAY SINCE OCTOBER 2025

U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs took in $999.0 million on Monday, September 21, per Farside Investors. The five trading days before it netted $6.1 million. That week held the Fed’s first rate hike since 2023 and back-to-back outflow days of $450.4 million and $295.9 million. Monday was the largest single day since October 6, 2025, when the funds took in $1.2 billion, per The Block citing SoSoValue. CoinDesk ranks it the ninth-largest ever.

Where it went, per Farside: BlackRock’s IBIT $381.4 million, ARK 21Shares’ ARKB $289.1 million, Fidelity’s FBTC $238.8 million, Morgan Stanley’s MSBT $61.7 million, Bitwise’s BITB $21.6 million. Grayscale’s GBTC took in $3.3 million.

What changed between the two weeks was the chart. Bitcoin briefly hit about $87,300 on Monday, its highest since January, per The Block, and CoinGlass counted $844 million of short positions liquidated in the 24 hours to Tuesday morning. ETF buyers who netted nothing through a rate hike showed up for the breakout. ETF money is sold as patient money. Monday says it watches the price like everyone else. At the time of this writing, bitcoin was $86,169.
