JACKSON HOLE PUTS BITCOIN ON THE AGENDA FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER — FED CHAIR WARSH KEYNOTES FRIDAY AFTER DIVESTING A DOZEN CRYPTO STAKES

The Fed picked its theme before Bitcoin picked the timing. “Financial Innovation: Implications for Payments and Policy” is Jackson Hole’s 2026 headline — the first time in the symposium’s history that payment rails, not interest rates, run the room. About 120 central bankers and policymakers showed up to talk about it the same week Treasury Secretary Bessent’s bond buyback push put Bitcoin back over $80,000 and stablecoins cleared more than $230 billion outstanding. New Fed Chair Kevin Warsh keynotes Friday. His pre-confirmation disclosure listed stakes in more than a dozen blockchain protocols and DeFi ventures — all divested before he took the gavel in May. That is not a man who thinks this stuff is a fad. That is a man who had to sell a diversified position to go regulate it. No prepared remarks are public yet, so nobody knows what he says Friday. What is already true: the institution that used to treat crypto as a compliance footnote just made payment infrastructure the main event. Purity is not a security model; architecture is — and the Fed just admitted the architecture changed.
